Her main research interests include genetic disorders of lipoprotein metabolism with a particular attention  on Familial Hypercholesterolaemia, Hyper Lp(a) and rare forms of dyslipidemias -as Tangier Disease, lipoprotein Glomerulopathy, LCAT Deficiency-, mainly focused on pathogenetic relations between lipoprotein disorders and cardiovascular disease

She is  member of multiple international societies and active member of the  Italian Society for the Study of Atherosclerosis (SISA),

She has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, reviewer for several scientific journals in the area of metabolism, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine
